It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Jeff Toole.

There are certain people who become so woven into the fabric of a community that it's hard to imagine it without them.

Jeff Toole was one of those people.

For decades, Jeff poured his heart into the game of hockey and, more importantly, into the people who played it. Through Heads Up Hockey, AAA hockey, high school hockey, and countless hours spent at rinks across our city, Jeff was a mentor, a teacher, and a guiding presence for generations of young athletes.

He was not the coach who measured success by wins and losses. He measured it by the people his players became. He believed in kids before they believed in themselves. He pushed them, encouraged them, and celebrated their successes as if they were his own.

Beyond the rink, Jeff was a devoted father, a loyal friend, and the kind of person who always made time for others. His impact reached far beyond hockey. He helped build confidence, character, and lifelong memories for so many families in our community.

Today, our hearts are broken.

The Hamilton hockey community has lost one of its greatest champions, and many of us have lost someone who helped shape our lives in ways we may never fully be able to express.

But Jeff's legacy lives on in every player he coached, every lesson he taught, every friendship he built, and every life he touched.

Thank you, Jeff, for the countless hours, the unwavering support, the wisdom, the kindness, and the example you set for all of us.

The rink won't be the same without you.

You will be missed more than words can say, and remembered for as long as this community exists. 💙🏒
