At Heads Up Sports Academy (HUSA), our programs are designed to support every stage of a player’s development. Whether focusing on skating, skill development, game play, or physical confidence, each session is built on a structured, teaching-based approach that emphasizes long-term growth.

We offer a wide range of on-ice programs, grouped into key areas to help players and families find the right fit.

Skating Development

Strong skating is the foundation of every successful player.

  • Acceleration & Speed Training

Puck Skills & Offensive Development

Programs may include:

  • Defencemen Clinics
  • Forward/Scoring Clinics
  • Position-Based Tactics

Game Play & Development

Applying skills in real-game situations is essential for growth.

These programs emphasize decision-making, hockey IQ, and situational awareness through structured play and competitive environments. Players learn to react, adapt, and execute under pressure.

Programs may include:

  • Scrimmages (PA Days and holidays)
  • Small Area Games
  • Game Situation Training

Body Contact & Checking

These sessions focus on developing confidence, safety, and proper technique in physical play.

Players are taught how to give and receive contact safely, along with angling, positioning, and battling skills, all within a controlled and supportive environment.

Programs may include:

  • Body Contact Clinics
  • Checking Clinics
  • Angling & Battle Skills

Camps & Seasonal Programs

HUSA also offers extended training opportunities throughout the year, allowing players to stay consistent and continue building their skills.

Programs may include:

  • PA Day Programs
  • Holiday Camps (Christmas, March Break, etc.)
  • Summer Development Camps

Our Approach

Across all programs, the focus remains the same: consistent effort, structured teaching, and a willingness to be challenged.

We believe players develop most when they step outside their comfort zones, learn from mistakes, and commit to improvement over time. This approach not only builds stronger hockey players, but also more confident and resilient individuals.
